David A. Lewis, MD will give the Provost’s Inaugural and Distinguished Lecture on November 5, 2019 to celebrate his appointment as Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and the Thomas Detre Professor of Academic Psychiatry. 

A national expert in schizophrenia, Dr. Lewis’ research focuses on the neural circuitry of the prefrontal cortex and related brain regions and the alterations of this circuitry in schizophrenia. He has served as chair of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry and Medical Director of the UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital since 2009. 

Details will be posted to the departmental website as planning progresses for this lecture. Due to construction at Scaife Hall, the specific location of the lecture will be determined closer to November 5th.
